Deck overview

This deck is an exhibition build designed around an extreme novelty constraint: eighty-nine basic Islands and ten non-land spells. Commanded by Baral, Chief of Compliance, the deck aims to achieve a deterministic win by casting Mana Severance on Turn 4 to exile every land from the library. With the library stripped down to only non-land spells, the deck uses Muddle the Mixture or natural topdecks to find and cast Thassa's Oracle on Turn 5 for an immediate victory. Because eighty-nine cards are lands, opening hands and natural draws provide perfect mana consistency on curve, while Baral, Chief of Compliance reduces instant and sorcery costs. However, the build trades away all interactive and defensive infrastructure. It runs no board wipes, no removal, no stax, and essentially no protection countermagic. If an opponent counters Mana Severance or forces a draw after the library is exiled, the deck has almost no recovery path.
