Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Big Mana Burn strategy built around Ozai, the Phoenix King. The primary plan uses efficient 2-CMC mana ramp to deploy Ozai ahead of curve on Turn 4 or 5. Thanks to Ozai's firebending trigger and static ability, unspent mana does not drain and instead converts to red mana that accumulates across turns. Once 6 or more mana is banked, Ozai gains flying and indestructible, making him an imposing combat threat while fueling game-ending X-spells such as Exsanguinate, Comet Storm, and Jaya's Immolating Inferno. Supporting spells like Storm King's Thunder and Return the Favor duplicate these massive spells to eliminate the entire table in one strike. The deck defends its strategy using single-target redirection magic and anti-counter measures like Spider-Punk, while relying on mass sweepers to keep opposing creature boards clear.
