Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered mono-black stax and attrition strategy built around Tergrid, God of Fright. The game plan accelerates through early rocks and dark rituals to deploy Tergrid alongside symmetric discard and sacrifice spells. Once operational, effects like Dark Deal, Oppression, and edicts strip opponents of hand and board resources while placing their discarded and sacrificed permanents directly onto your battlefield. This rapid asymmetric resource swing establishes a suffocating lock as opponents lose the ability to cast spells or develop mana. The deck converts this overwhelming resource surplus into a decisive table elimination through a massive Torment of Hailfire, devastating life drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or the compact two-card infinite combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond. Tutors like Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor ensure high consistency, while cheap recursion spells protect Tergrid from removal.
