Bird is the Word by StuWho

Format: Commander

Commander: Kastral, the Windcrested

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Kastral, the Windcrested leads an Azorius flying tribal deck focused on aggressive aerial swarm and combat value. The primary strategy deploys low-cost Bird creatures and mana ramp during early turns, establishing an evasive board presence. Casting Kastral amplifies this army, using combat damage triggers to draw cards, distribute +1/+1 counters, or cheat high-cost Birds into play from the hand or graveyard. The deck wins by going wide and tall with flying anthems such as Favorable Winds, Gravitational Shift, and Steel-Plume Marshal, overwhelming opponents through unblockable combat damage while utilizing instant-speed protection and recursion to sustain momentum.
