Deck overview

This Golgari deck harnesses Hazel of the Rootbloom to build an overwhelming board of creature and artifact tokens, translating wide boards into explosive mana generation and lethal combat or aristocrat finishes. Hazel automatically copies tokens at the end of each turn—tripling Squirrel production—which fuels her activated ability to tap tokens for massive mana bursts. The deck leverages this acceleration to cast high-impact token doublers like Doubling Season, army-in-a-can spells like Deep Forest Hermit and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, and devastating asymmetric sweepers like Swarmyard Massacre. Victory is achieved either by overrunning opponents with Beastmaster Ascension and End-Raze Forerunners or by draining the table with aristocrat payoffs such as Mirkwood Bats, Bastion of Remembrance, and Nadier's Nightblade. While highly resilient to single-target removal due to broad redundancy, the deck is vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and lacks generic tutors to find specific pieces on demand.
