Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Dragon-treasure combo deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable as an indestructible damage sink. The main plan is to deal noncombat damage to Smaug with Pyrohemia, Pain for All, Chain Lightning, and similar spells, converting each point of damage into a Treasure while draining opponents. Xorn and Goldspan Dragon multiply those Treasures, and the resulting mana fuels massive X spells like Exsanguinate, Banefire, Torment of Hailfire, or the Pyrohemia loop itself. Smaug the Magnificent serves as a hidden commander, providing an attacking Treasure payoff. Alternate win conditions include Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, and Knuckles the Echidna artifact thresholds.
