Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari graveyard-midrange strategy commanded by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The primary game plan revolves around leveraging self-mill and sacrifice fodder to accumulate experience counters rapidly, establishing a continuous loop of value and creature recursion. Early turns deploy efficient ramp creatures such as Sakura-Tribe Elder and utility sacrifice pieces like Accursed Marauder to build experience counters while keeping opposing creature counts low. In the mid-game, Meren locks down the board with asymmetric sacrifice engines like Dictate of Erebos, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Archfiend of Depravity. With opposing boards suppressed, the deck transitions into lethal reanimation sequences, draining the table through repeated Gray Merchant of Asphodel triggers or overwhelming opponents with massive token swarms from Kessig Cagebreakers and combat overruns from Pathbreaker Ibex.
