Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Shilgengar, Sire of Famine as a mass-reanimation engine powered by the Angel creature type. By sacrificing high-toughness Angels, Shilgengar generates large volumes of Blood tokens that pay for its mass reanimation ability. The deck rapidly stocks the graveyard using targeted burial effects such as Buried Alive and Entomb. On Turn 5, Shilgengar returns every creature from the graveyard to the battlefield. A critical interaction occurs with Thief of Blood, which enters the battlefield and removes all finality counters, allowing repeated sacrifices and resets. Concurrently, Avacyn, Angel of Hope shields the board with indestructible, Brisela, Voice of Nightmares locks out low-cost spells, and Righteous Valkyrie provides massive stat buffs. Opponents are suppressed by heavy taxation, targeted exile, and combat dominance, closing the game through evasive flying pressure by Turn 7.
