Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black group-slug and forced-draw strategy helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The game plan accelerates mana in the opening turns to land Sheoldred ahead of curve, then turns opponents' basic game actions against them by weaponizing card draw. Symmetric draw pieces like Font of Mythos, Temple Bell, and Teferi's Puzzle Box force opponents to repeatedly draw cards, converting each draw step into substantial life loss while buffering the pilot's life total. Damage doublers such as Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Archfiend of Despair compress the clock, while Peer into the Abyss offers explosive single-target elimination or immense self-refill. The deck supports this core with robust mono-black creature removal, sweeping answers like Toxic Deluge, and classic big-mana engines like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast that feed into game-ending Torment of Hailfire finishes.
