Deck overview

This deck is a Bant political control strategy built around Kros, Defense Contractor. The game plan revolves around manipulating combat by placing counters on opposing creatures to tap and goad them. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with low-cost dorks and ramp spells to deploy Kros by Turn 3 or 4. Once operational, Kros distributes shield counters that turn opposing threats into forced attackers directed away from you. Engines like Forgotten Ancient, Brokers Ascendancy, and Nils, Discipline Enforcer accelerate this dynamic by spreading counters table-wide, forcing opponents into mutual attrition while taxing attacks against your board. While opponents eliminate each other, you amass large counters on cards like Mossborn Hydra or advance toward Simic Ascendancy. The deck protects its board through efficient phasing and hexproof effects, eventually executing a lethal combat finish against the final surviving opponent.
