Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari token and aristocrats strategy commanded by Hazel of the Rootbloom. It focuses on generating a diverse brood of Squirrel, Food, and Treasure tokens, leveraging Hazel's ability to duplicate tokens each end step and tap them for explosive mana. The deck accelerates in the early game with low-curve enablers like Gilded Goose and Vinereap Mentor, setting up Hazel on Turn 3 or 4. Once operational, Hazel's mana engine fuels powerful token doublers such as Parallel Lives and versatile commanders like Chatterfang, Squirrel General. The deck transitions into a lethal win condition around Turn 6, utilizing overrun effects from Beastmaster Ascension, sustained life drain from Mirkwood Bats and Blood Artist, or an infinite token loop with Scurry Oak and Ivy Lane Denizen. While resilient in long games, the deck is vulnerable to mass board wipes and lacks stack interaction against opposing spell-based combos.
