Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal strategy built around The Ur-Sphinx. It uses cost reduction, reanimation, and eminence to bypass the high mana costs of powerful flying creatures. Sixteen copies of Sphinx's Approach give the deck immense consistency, acting as early card draw and later tutoring premier Sphinxes directly onto the battlefield. Once Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign enters play, every subsequent Sphinx triggers a four-card selection engine that quickly fills the hand and graveyard. The deck pressures opponents by deploying large flying beaters, utilizing Magister Sphinx to set life totals to 10, and protecting its board with efficient countermagic. Victory is achieved through overwhelming airborne combat damage across multiple turns.
