$20 Ovika Rock and Roll by user7616015

Commander: Ovika, Enigma Goliath

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a high-cmc Izzet token-spellslinger strategy helmed by Ovika, Enigma Goliath. The primary game plan is to ramp heavily with a glut of mana rocks, deploy Ovika, then cast expensive noncreature spells to create a swarm of hasty Phyrexian Goblin tokens. The tokens are then leveraged for combat damage, often with pump effects like Shared Animosity and Tears of Rage, or as a resource to convoke out even larger spells. The deck has no infinite combos and relies entirely on incremental combat damage. The commander is fundamental: without Ovika, the deck produces no tokens and has no other win condition. The list is packed with artifact mana and high-CMC instants/sorceries, many with convoke, resulting in a very high average mana value and a painfully slow, linear game plan.
