Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Meren of Clan Nel Toth is the engine of a Golgari recursion value deck that turns the graveyard into a toolbox. The primary plan is to mill and sacrifice creatures to build experience counters, then reanimate high-impact threats such as Kokusho, Archon of Cruelty, and Lord of Extinction. The cleanest finisher is Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord sacrificing an oversized Lord of Extinction to deal lethal damage to each opponent; Kokusho drain loops and Living Death mass reanimation provide secondary paths. With nine-plus tutors and multiple sacrifice outlets, the deck restocks its hand and board through Meren, Chainer, Sheoldred, and reanimation spells. It is a resilient midrange engine rather than a combo deck.
