Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Abzan stax-combo list centered on Tayam, Luminous Enigma. It uses an efficient mana-dork core to deploy disruptive hatebears on early turns, such as Drannith Magistrate, Collector Ouphe, and Archon of Emeria. These pieces slow opposing fast combo decks to a crawl. Tayam breaks parity on Rule of Law effects by activating its ability to mill cards and return permanents with mana value 3 or less directly to the battlefield without casting spells. The primary win condition is a compact infinite loop between Basking Broodscale and Rosie Cotton of South Lane. This combo produces infinite colorless mana and infinite +1/+1 counters. With Tayam on the battlefield, the loop mills the entire library and reanimates every cheap permanent, finishing opponents with repeated Orcish Bowmasters triggers. Strong creature tutors and protection pieces like Ranger-Captain of Eos ensure high consistency and resilience.
