Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu political control and Aikido build led by Queen Marchesa. Its core strategy revolves around introducing and manipulating the Monarch mechanic to secure steady card advantage while encouraging opponents to fight among themselves. A layered pillowfort suite featuring Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse, and Blind Obedience makes attacking you inefficient, while goad cards like Kardur, Doomscourge and Disrupt Decorum force hostile combat steps away from your life total. When opponents attempt large combat swings, reactive traps such as Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Take the Bait convert their aggression into sudden lethality. The deck closes games around Turn 8 or 9 by deploying asymmetric finishers including Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, fully upgraded Court enchantments, or a one-sided wipe with Ruinous Ultimatum, capitalizing on the low life totals of opponents who have spent the game wearing each other down.
