Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure Burn strategy commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flying, indestructible, hasty Dragon. The core engine exploits Smaug's indestructible keyword by targeting him with noncombat damage spells such as Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, and Blasphemous Act. Because Smaug does not die from damage, these spells generate bursts of 8 to 20 Treasure tokens in a single turn. The deck then channels this massive mana surge into game-ending X-spells like Crackle with Power and Exsanguinate, or converts artifact creation into lethal table-wide burn using pingers like Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver, and Mirkwood Bats. Redundant ramp and impulse draw accelerate Smaug onto the battlefield by Turn 5, while heavy damage sweepers clear opposing boards asymmetrically. Secondary threats like Ancient Copper Dragon and Hellkite Tyrant ensure the deck maintains lethal pressure even if the commander is temporarily detained.
