Sav’s Kaalia by ilujin

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast is the engine of a Mardu 'cheat fatties' deck that attacks to put Angels, Demons, and Dragons into play tapped and attacking. The primary kill combines extra combat effects with Angel of Destiny's life-gain trigger, turning one or two combat phases into a simultaneous elimination. Secondary paths are beatdown from evasive demons/dragons, plus attrition damage from Xathrid Demon and Balor. The deck is interaction-heavy for its colors, with spot removal and protection spells that keep Kaalia's attack chain alive, but its ceiling depends on drawing the right legendary payoff and an extra combat spell in the first several turns.
