Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan dual-tribal token swarm and life-drain strategy led by Olag and Miau, New Friends. The game plan bridges two distinct creature types—Cats and Zombies—turning their natural mechanical tension into an engine. Whenever a Zombie enters, a Cat receives a +1/+1 counter; whenever a Cat enters, a Zombie receives a +1/+1 counter. The commander converts combat pressure into inescapable attrition by draining each opponent for life equal to your tapped Cats and Zombies at your end step. Supported by steady token generators like Leonin Warleader, Brimaz, King of Oreskos, and Grave Titan, the deck swarms the board and attacks freely. Resilient draw engines such as Caretaker's Talent and Cryptbreaker maintain card velocity, while Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar protects critical turns from opposing interaction. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through combined combat damage and unblockable end-step drain triggers.
