Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck is piloted by Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, functioning as a potent sacrifice outlet, card draw engine, and board control tool. The primary strategy revolves around establishing an infinite sacrifice loop utilizing Yawgmoth, two creatures with undying (such as Butcher Ghoul, Geralf's Messenger, or Sightless Ghoul) or Nest of Scarabs, and a blood artist effect like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, or Bastion of Remembrance. In this loop, -1/-1 counters placed by Yawgmoth cancel out +1/+1 counters granted by undying, enabling infinite creature deaths, infinite card draw, and fatal drain across all opponents in a single turn. The deck supports this game plan with robust creature recursion, black tutors, and aggressive token generation from Ophiomancer, Dreadhorde Invasion, and Bitterbloom Bearer. Asymmetric board control pieces like Grave Pact and Maha, Its Feathers Night suppress opposing creature boards, while Warren Soultrader and Bolas's Citadel provide resilient backup victory paths.
