Deck overview

This deck uses Atraxa, Grand Unifier as a high-impact refill engine for a poison and proliferate shell. Early acceleration from Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Lotus Petal, Dark Ritual, and mana creatures can support an early commander. Prologue to Phyresis or toxic creatures establish initial poison counters, while Tainted Observer, Bloated Contaminator, Thrummingbird, and proliferate spells advance them. The deck also contains strong tutors, free counterspells, removal, and several cards that reward opponents for drawing or attacking. Its main weakness is that the win condition is not compact: the deck must create poison counters, connect in combat or cast proliferate spells, and repeat the process for all three opponents. It can generate a strong midgame board and substantial card advantage, but ordinary draws do not reliably produce a complete table kill on a fixed turn.
