Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain midrange strategy centered on deploying low-cost lifelink creatures, draining opponents incrementally, and resolving high-impact top-end threats. Early turns focus on establishing evasive lifelinkers like Healer's Hawk and Essence Channeler alongside drain payoffs such as Marauding Blight-Priest and Ill-Gotten Inheritance. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions into heavier combat threats including Syr Vondam, the Lucent and Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, using unblockable attacks and deathtouch buffs to push through damage while maintaining a defensive life buffer. Because the list lacks fast mana and dedicated tutors, it operates at a traditional casual pace, relying on natural draws and steady land drops to reach its expensive spells. While it features resilient single-target creature removal and minor reanimation tools, its win condition requires surviving multiple turn rotations. The deck thrives best in creature-heavy battlecruiser pods where lifegain cushions against aggression and Teysa deters attacks.
