Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo aggro-burn strategy commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan opens with a 1-mana evasive creature on Turn 1, enabling a Turn 2 Commander Ninjutsu activation that puts Yuriko directly onto the battlefield attacking and unblocked. When Yuriko and complementary Ninjas deal combat damage, their triggers draw cards while draining all opponents for the revealed cards' mana values. The deck leverages topdeck manipulation such as Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, and Mystical Tutor to stack disproportionately high mana value cards like Draco (16 damage), Shadow of Mortality (15 damage), and Temporal Trespass (11 damage). Because Commander Ninjutsu bypasses commander tax, the engine exhibits exceptional resilience against spot removal and sweepers. Supported by efficient countermagic, bounce spells, and mass evasion enablers like Cover of Darkness, the deck reliably closes games on Turn 5 by simultaneously burning down the entire table.
