Grenzo, Rat Herder by Hidewrath

Format: Commander

Commander: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck combines a relentless Rat Colony swarm with Grenzo, Dungeon Warden as an explosive bottom-of-library engine. Because Rat Colony cards enter the battlefield as 2/1 creatures, Grenzo can cheat them directly into play for only two mana when cast with X equal to zero. The deck quickly builds high-power boards that overwhelm opponents in combat or generates vast amounts of mana through engines like Mana Echoes and Ashnod's Altar. Reito effects, The Cauldron of Eternity, and Secret Salvage provide continuous recursion and hand refills, while Syr Konrad, the Grim and Warstorm Surge convert high creature throughput directly into lethal burn.
