Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition engine built around Braids, Arisen Nightmare. It exploits an unusually dense enchantment suite to break parity on Braids's end-step sacrifice trigger. Because opponents rarely control enchantments to sacrifice in response, Braids consistently drains life and draws three cards every turn cycle. The deck converts this steady flow of resources into severe hand disruption through cards like Oppression, Painful Quandary, and Dark Deal, punishing discards with Megrim, Liliana's Caress, and Waste Not. Protection Auras such as Kaya's Ghostform pull double duty by shielding Braids and serving as disposable sacrifice fodder. While the deck lacks fast infinite combos or stack-based countermagic, it excels at dragging the entire table into a low-resource top-deck war where its passive drain effects inevitably deplete opposing life totals.
