Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Dragon tribal midrange strategy helmed by The Ur-Dragon. It leverages the passive eminence cost reduction to cast high-impact flying threats like Terror of the Peaks, Goldspan Dragon, and Tiamat ahead of their printed mana costs. Alongside its aggressive Dragon core, the list includes a suite of stax and resource-denial pieces such as Winter Orb, Winter Moon, Ruination, and Smokestack to constrain opposing development. However, the mana base relies heavily on 29 basic lands with minimal fetchlands or green ramp, leading to noticeable color friction for its five-color spells. Winning the game involves assembling a critical mass of Dragons, leveraging burn triggers and power-doubling combat steps with Thrakkus the Butcher to eliminate the table over multiple combat steps.
