Commander: Saruman, the White Hand

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Grixis deck is a spellslinger/amass hybrid built entirely around Saruman, the White Hand turning every noncreature spell into Army growth. A one-mana Consider amasses 1, while an eight-mana Treasure Cruise - no matter how cheaply you cast it - amasses 8. That single enormous Army becomes the deck's weapon, finished off by Assault on Osgiliath's double-strike/haste swing, Chandra's Ignition's table burn, or the Fling package (Fling, Thud, Kazuul's Fury, Soul's Fire), all amplified by Isengard Unleashed's triple damage. In between, a classic Grixis value shell of Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, Veyran, Voice of Duality, Archmage Emeritus, and Storm-Kiln Artist draws, burns, and ramps. Kess, Dissident Mage and Arcane Bombardment act as hidden commanders for the recursion angle. There are no infinite combos - this is a midrange value deck that converts spell count into one overwhelming attack or damage burst.
