Deck overview

Niko, Light of Hope leads an Azorius midrange strategy that blends traditional enter-the-battlefield flicker loops with token duplication. Upon entering the battlefield, Niko creates Shard enchantment tokens that can either be sacrificed for card selection or turned into temporary copies of any nonlegendary creature you control. The deck ramps on early turns, deploys Niko, and uses blink permanents like Soulherder and Conjurer's Closet to generate a critical mass of Shard tokens. Once four or more Shards are active, Niko targets game-ending nonlegendary threats such as Terisian Mindbreaker to mill opponents out in rapid combat steps, or Sludge Monster to strip all opposing abilities. A deep instant-speed blink package doubles as proactive value generation and reactive protection against targeted removal, giving the deck strong resilience across extended games.
