Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos Group Slug deck commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying inexpensive, symmetrical or asymmetric life-loss permanents—such as Razorkin Needlehead, Underworld Dreams, and Creeping Bloodsucker—to guarantee that each opponent loses life during their own turn. Once Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls enters the battlefield, these triggers draw up to three cards per turn cycle while turning the commander into an immense, evasive flying threat. The resulting card advantage fuels continuous deployment of damage doublers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, punishing enchantments like Painful Quandary, and targeted removal. Opponents face severe attrition on routine actions, unable to safely pass turns or preserve their life totals. The deck culminates in table-wide burn, commander damage finishes, or an infinite drain loop via Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond.
