Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Grixis Voltron-Midrange engine commanded by Obeka, Splitter of Seconds. The primary strategy focuses on connecting in combat with Obeka to generate multiple post-combat upkeep steps equal to the combat damage dealt. These extra upkeeps supercharge permanents with powerful upkeep triggers, such as Court of Ambition, Court of Ire, Descent into Avernus, and Phyrexian Arena. Because Obeka must deal combat damage to function, the list runs a dense package of unblockable enablers including Brotherhood Regalia, Aqueous Form, Vorrac Battlehorns, and Silent Arbiter. Protection pieces like Mithril Coat, Swiftfoot Boots, and cheap counterspells ensure Obeka survives removal windows. Once operational on Turn 5, Obeka rapidly strips opposing hands through Court triggers and accumulates overwhelming card advantage and burn damage, closing the game around Turn 7.
