Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Astarion, the Decadent and focuses on weaponizing lifegain and life loss into a rapid clock. The deck establishes early board control through efficient Orzhov removal and steady value engines such as Black Market Connections and Phyrexian Arena. It then deploys drain engines like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Bastion of Remembrance, and Kambal, Consul of Allocation to whittle down opposing life totals while padding its own buffer. Once Astarion, the Decadent or Wound Reflection enters the battlefield on Turn 6, its Feed ability doubles the life lost by opponents, turning moderate life loss into lethal bursts.
