Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet Dragon tribal list helmed by Sarkhan, Soul Aflame. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana in the early turns, establishing Sarkhan on Turn 3, and chaining high-impact Dragons starting on Turn 4. Sarkhan's static cost reduction smooths out steep casting costs, while his triggered ability turns him into a duplicate copy of whichever Dragon enters the battlefield. This duplication exponentially increases the potency of attack and ETB triggers from legendary powerhouses such as Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Scourge of the Throne. The deck delivers lethal pressure through evasive aerial combat and massive direct-damage triggers, supported by extra-combat engines. An incidental two-card combo between Curiosity and Niv-Mizzet, Parun provides an alternate win condition. While vulnerable to well-timed sweepers, the deck maintains substantial independence due to the sheer individual power of its Dragon roster.
