Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Esper spellslinger deck uses Y'shtola, Night's Blessed to turn mid-cost noncreature spells into steady life swings and card advantage. Early turns focus on mana acceleration and defensive permanents like Propaganda and Authority of the Consuls to suppress aggressive opponents. Once Y'shtola is active, casting spells with mana value 3 or greater burns opponents, pads your life total, and draws cards whenever life thresholds are met. The deck wins primarily by assembling the infinite drain loop of Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond or Marauding Blight-Priest, resolving a kicked Rite of Replication on Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or casting a massive Exsanguinate.
