Deck overview

This deck combines a classic Zombie tribal strategy with mono-black attrition, reanimation, and planeswalker support led by Liliana, Heretical Healer. The early game focuses on deploying low-curve Zombies and sacrifice fodder to flip the commander early into Liliana, Defiant Necromancer. Once transformed, the deck steadily grinds down opponents' resources through discard, edicts, and death triggers using cards like Undead Augur and Fleshbag Marauder. As the game progresses, mono-black mana doublers including Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast enable massive late-game swings, deploying finishers like Bolas's Citadel, kicked Josu Vess, Lich Knight, and Rise of the Dark Realms. Lethality is achieved through mass combat damage enhanced by lords like Death Baron and Undead Warchief, complemented by substantial life drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While vulnerable to exile-based board wipes and lacking instant stack protection, the deck exhibits strong resilience through redundant graveyard recursion.
