Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and combo deck built around Niv-Mizzet, Parun. Its primary strategy focuses on controlling the early game with cheap counterspells, efficient cantrips, and steady land development. Once the deck reaches six mana, it deploys Niv-Mizzet, Parun, which cannot be countered and converts every instant and sorcery into card draw and direct damage. The primary win condition is a two-card infinite combo combining Niv-Mizzet with Curiosity or Tandem Lookout. Dealing damage triggers a draw, which triggers another ping, drawing the entire library and dealing lethal damage to all opponents or winning via Laboratory Maniac. In games where the commander is contested, the deck transitions into a burn engine utilizing Guttersnipe, Firebrand Archer, and Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph alongside storm spells like Grapeshot. Strong card draw from Archmage Emeritus and Rhystic Study ensures long-term fuel, while focused single-target interaction keeps opposing threats in check.
