Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos midrange deck commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The strategy converts opponent artifact counts and dedicated Treasure creators into an overwhelming resource engine. Accelerating with low-cost mana rocks and early creatures, the deck aims to cast Smaug on Turn 4 to establish a card-draw engine that draws a card whenever Treasure mana pays for a spell. On Turn 5, it transitions into critical pressure by deploying artifact-death pingers like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Reckless Fireweaver, or by reanimating massive threats like Hoarding Broodlord and Ancient Copper Dragon. The sheer volume of Treasures generated and cracked drains opponents simultaneously while fueling game-ending sorceries like Crackle with Power or Living Death. Resilient reanimation packages ensure the deck rebounds quickly from removal, closing games reliably by Turn 6.
