Deck overview

This Azorius control/stax deck is helmed by Shorikai, Genesis Engine, a repeatable card-advantage engine that also creates Pilot tokens to crew itself. The deck's primary plan is to lock down opponents with a dense suite of symmetrical effects (Rule of Law, Archon of Emeria, Blind Obedience, Winter Moon, Back to Basics) while drawing into its interaction and finishers. It wins through combat - either by turning Shorikai into an 8/8 commander-damage threat, or by deploying Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Hullbreaker Horror as resilient beaters after wiping the board. The deck's secondary path leverages Counterbalance and Esper Sentinel / Rhystic Study to bury opponents in card advantage, then closes with overwhelming value.
