Deck overview

This mono-black Vampire lifegain/drain deck, helmed by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, aims to convert every point of life gained into direct damage to opponents. The primary game plan is to establish a steady stream of lifegain triggers-through creatures like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Epicure of Blood-and then amplify them with Sanguine Bond or Vito himself. The deck's signature win condition is the infinite loop formed by Exquisite Blood and either Sanguine Bond or Vito, where any life loss by an opponent triggers a chain that drains the table. Secondary paths include incremental drain from Painful Quandary, Ill-Gotten Inheritance, and the commander's activated lifelink ability. The deck is heavily tribal, with most creatures being Vampires, and relies on attrition and inevitability rather than explosive speed.
