Deck overview

This Abzan deck is a +1/+1 counters goodstuff pile with a dense legendary-matters subtheme, helmed by the partner pair Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Reyhan, Last of the Abzan. Yoshimaru grows every time the deck casts another legendary permanent, and the 99 is loaded with them, while Reyhan provides three counters on entry and redistributes them when creatures die. Counter doublers and upgraders - Corpsejack Menace, Doubling Season, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Hardened Scales, Kami of Whispered Hopes - turn every creature cast into a board-wide explosion, especially with Cathars' Crusade. The primary win is sheer combat inevitability: a giant, trampling, unblockable army finished by Overwhelming Stampede or Akroma's Will. There are no infinite combos; instead, the strategy grinds through wipes with counter persistence from The Ozolith, token insurance from Felisa, Fang of Silverquill, and legendary recursion from Kethis, the Hidden Hand. Ghave, Guru of Spores acts as a hidden commander, churning tokens and counters with the doubling suite.
