Deck overview

This deck is a classic Simic tempo and extra-turns strategy commanded by Edric, Spymaster of Trest. The game plan floods the board on Turns 1 and 2 with hyper-efficient 1-mana evasive creatures like Cloud Sprite, Gudul Lurker, and Slither Blade. Once Edric enters on Turn 3, these small attackers immediately draw cards upon dealing combat damage. By Turn 4, the deck draws 4 to 8 cards per turn cycle, fueling a dense suite of 1-mana and free countermagic to protect the board. To close the game, the deck chains extra-turn spells like Time Warp, Capture of Jingzhou, and Temporal Manipulation while pumping its unblockable weenies into lethal threats using Beastmaster Ascension, Craterhoof Behemoth, or Biomass Mutation. With redundant attackers, low curve requirements, and relentless card flow, the deck establishes rapid control and finishes opponents within 1 table cycle.
