Deck overview

This Bant midrange deck is helmed by Helga, Skittish Seer, turning big creature spells and X-cost threats into a compounding engine of mana and card draw. The game plan focuses on deploying Helga on turn 3, followed by casting creatures with mana value 4 or greater on turn 4 to draw cards and grow Helga's power. Once Helga generates multiple mana per tap, the deck accelerates into game-ending stompy threats such as Tyrranax Rex, Koma, World-Eater, and Jumbo Cactuar. Counter doublers like Branching Evolution and Bristly Bill, Spine Sower rapidly swell the board, while trample enablers ensure damage pushes through blockers. The deck runs a balanced suite of spot removal, counterspells, and protective instants to shield key pieces. Without infinite combos or fast-mana tutors, it relies on combat damage to eliminate opponents across turns 6 through 8.
