Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain control list led by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. From turn 1, Oloro generates an unanswerable life buffer directly from the command zone, allowing the pilot to safely trade life for cards and board position. The early turns focus on establishing 2-CMC mana rocks, small lifegain creatures like Soul Warden, and passive stax pieces such as Authority of the Consuls and Blind Obedience. Mid-game resources flow through engines like Well of Lost Dreams, Black Market Connections, and Necropotence, backed by a comprehensive suite of exile removal and uncounterable board wipes. The primary victory route leverages high life totals to win directly via Felidar Sovereign or Test of Endurance, with strong secondary routes involving Aetherflux Reservoir laser bursts, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose drain engines, and resilient token beaters like Crested Sunmare.
