Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet wheel and token strategy commanded by The Locust God. The game plan focuses on developing mana during the early turns, establishing passive damage amplifiers, and casting the commander on Turn 5 or 6. Once The Locust God is on the battlefield, any wheel effect or mass draw spell produces a massive swarm of 1/1 flying Insect tokens with haste. Payoffs like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Psychosis Crawler turn these draws into direct table-wide damage, while Shared Animosity and Coat of Arms enable lethal combat strikes. The deck also includes a near-infinite draw combo with Sage of the Falls, which draws through the deck to generate dozens of hasty tokens. Supported by efficient counterspells and redirection magic, the deck quickly pivots from setup to a decisive finish.
