Deck overview

Mendicant Core, Guidelight commands an aggressive Azorius artifact deck built around the speed mechanic and artifact spell replication. The game plan focuses on deploying early artifact acceleration, cost reducers, and agile attackers to deal combat damage each turn. This steady pressure advances the player's speed counter to Max Speed (4) by Turn 5. Once at Max Speed, Mendicant Core copies every artifact spell cast for a single generic mana, rapidly multiplying board presence and utility. The deck shifts into a decisive win condition on Turn 6 through mass animation effects such as Cyberdrive Awakener, wide token swarms from Myr Battlesphere, or tall unblockable threats like Kappa Cannoneer. A deep suite of efficient spot removal, low-cost counterspells, and protective permanents like Bronze Guardian and Padeem, Consul of Innovation safeguards the board while the deck eliminates opponents across two combat cycles by Turn 8.
