Deck overview

This Abzan "Toughness Matters" deck is helmed by Betor, Kin to All, leveraging the end-step payoffs for amassing creatures with high toughness. The primary game plan is to deploy a dense board of high-toughness creatures, use Doran-style effects (Doran, the Siege Tower, Felothar the Steadfast) to make them deal lethal combat damage, and eventually trigger Betor's 40-toughness drain to close out. The deck also includes an alternative win condition through Angel of Destiny and life-gain synergies. A robust reanimation package (Animate Dead, Necromancy, Reanimate) and recursion (Bala Ged Recovery, Nethroi, Apex of Death) help recover from disruption.
