Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black reanimator strategy piloted by Balthor the Defiled. Its central game plan focuses on filling the graveyard with high-impact black creatures through targeted tutors like Buried Alive and Vile Entomber, self-mill from Doom Whisperer and Stinkweed Imp, and discard outlets like Putrid Imp. Once the graveyard is populated with devotion and life-drain pieces, the deck executes a mass reanimation turn via Balthor's activated ability or Living Death. Reanimating Gray Merchant of Asphodel alongside damage doublers such as Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Archfiend of Despair drains the entire table for lethal life totals in a single turn without requiring combat. Mid-game turns are stabilized through efficient creature removal, mana doublers like Crypt Ghast, and defensive deterrences like No Mercy. The deck operates smoothly on curve, trading resilience to graveyard hate for overwhelming burst damage.
