Deck overview

Led by Edgar Markov, this deck leverages the Eminence mechanic to generate continuous battlefield presence without needing to cast its commander. By deploying low-mana Vampires on turns one and two, the deck rapidly amasses 1/1 tokens that fuel aristocrat sacrifice outlets, draw engines, and lethal combat buffs. Turn three establishes an operational engine through card advantage like Skullclamp or tribal amplifiers such as Shared Animosity and Stromkirk Captain. By turn four, wide combat swings reinforced by Sanctum Seeker, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, or drain triggers from Blood Artist create lethal pressure against opposing life totals. If combat stalls, black tutors assemble an infinite life-drain loop with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. High-efficiency spot removal in Swords to Plowshares and Anguished Unmaking clears blockers and disruptive permanents, while Teferi's Protection shields the horde from sweepers.
