Deck overview

This deck is a classic Azorius Group Hug and Pillowfort control strategy commanded by The Council of Four. The primary game plan revolves around giving all players extra card draw through symmetric engines like Kami of the Crescent Moon, Dictate of Kruphix, and Temple Bell. This symmetric draw turns on the commander's ability to draw cards whenever an opponent draws their second card, netting 3 to 4 extra cards each table rotation. While opponents are supplied with resources, defensive tax pieces like Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Sphere of Safety, along with fog effects, disincentivize attacks against the pilot. The massive card velocity digs toward decisive win conditions, primarily Approach of the Second Sun, which can be cast and redrawn within a single turn cycle. Secondary routes include burn from Psychosis Crawler and mass milling via Psychic Corrosion.
