Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul tribal midrange deck centered around Kibo, Uktabi Prince. Its primary strategy leverages a unique political and resource dynamic: handing opponents artifact Banana tokens, then punishing them by destroying those artifacts to grow an army of Apes and Monkeys with +1/+1 counters. The deck accelerates in the early turns with standard land ramp, lands Kibo by turn 3, and develops synergistic beaters by turn 4. On turns 5 and 6, mass artifact wipe spells like Vandalblast, Meltdown, or Fade from History act as dual-purpose plays, setting back opposing mana development while explosively buffing the team. Win conditions rely on combat damage pushed through via trample and evasion from cards like Sphere Grid, Flopsie, Bumi's Buddy, and Kessig Wolf Run. The list features robust redundancy in artifact removal and solid defensive spells like Heroic Intervention, but relies on natural topdecks due to an absence of direct creature tutors.
