Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Aristocrats and +1/+1 counters midrange deck commanded by Jenova, Ancient Calamity. The game plan revolves around generating small creature tokens or recursive threats, augmenting their power with Jenova's combat trigger, and sacrificing them to draw cards and trigger table-wide life drain. Efficient ramp spells ensure Jenova enters play on Turn 4. Once assembled, the deck leverages engines like Pitiless Plunderer, Bastion of Remembrance, and Blood Artist to turn creature deaths into substantial card advantage, mana velocity, and steady life loss for all opponents. While the list lacks fast two-card infinite combos, its density of interchangeable payoffs, resilient graveyard recursion, and potent burst damage from cards like Defiling Daemogoth and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose allow it to close games decisively around Turn 8.
